WhatsApp popular messaging app-founder Brian Acton IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Friday met. During the meeting were discussed the ways how the company can contribute to the country’s digital commerce.
Acton was in Delhi on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of WhatsApp. To date, 1.2 billion users each month worldwide on WhatsApp are active users of which 200 million are from India. So India is the world’s largest market for WhatsApp.
Referring to the importance of India said Acton WhatsApp India wants to contribute to the thinking of the future of digital commerce. He said, India is a key country for us. 20 million friends, families and communities are using to connect WhatsApp. WhatsApp each feature easy, reliable and safe. Digital India initiative is in line with this thinking. Acton said it will continue its investment in India.
Earlier this week, Microsoft’s chief Satya Nadella and offerings had met the Prime Minister here. The meeting rural health and education through the use of technology to improve the company’s digital inclusion program were discussed.
